We successfully hosted another Dia De Los Muertos Event at the Loveland Public Library in 2019 as a way to celebrate a colorful, lively and beautiful cultural tradition. 2019 5th Annual Día de los Muertos Cultural Celebration

Primarily known as an actor, director, and performer, Cheech Marin has developed the finest private collection of Chicano art in the United State. Successful exhibitions of his collection have appeared in major art museums across the country, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). His blockbuster exhibition “Chicano Visions: American Painters on the Verge” broke attendance records during its 12-city, cross-country tour between 2001 – 2007.

With the help of their high school’s newest teacher, four Hispanic students form a robotics club. Although they have no experience, the youths set their sights on a national robotics contest. With $800 and parts scavenged from old cars, they build a robot and compete against reigning champion MIT.

Multilingual local musician Achilles has been sharing stages with international and national artists since 2011. These opportunities led him to ramp up popularity in the local scene, packing venues in the area with his bands: Manabi Salsa Band and Maiden Denver. He’s known for bringing high energy shows with salsa, bolero, and Latin rock.

 Loveland Heart & Sol and the Loveland Public library invite you to join us for an afternoon of celebration and honor as we celebrate Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead, one of Mexico’s most important holidays and celebrated in many cities in the United States. Full of colorful imagery and lively festivities, Día de los Muertos is a special time to honor the dead while celebrating life. Activities include sugar skull decorating, traditional dance, Mariachi music, Mexican refreshments, and crafts in our Children’s and Teen departments.
